FirmdeskBuilt inside a practising firm
Firmdesk started as the software one Ontario firm needed for its own work. That firm runs its practice on it today, with its own clients.
Every small firm asks the same questions each week. Which returns are due? What are we still waiting for from clients? Who is working on what? What hasn't been billed? The answers were in spreadsheets, inboxes and people's heads.
Firmdesk puts them in one place. Each client's services, and the CRA deadlines that follow from them. The tasks behind each deadline. The requests and documents going back and forth with clients, in a portal they can use on their phone. The time, and the invoices.
Because it was built for a working firm, it's shaped by how a Canadian practice runs: T1 families as households, corporations with their directors and share register, Québec clients with QST and the CO-17, and a deadline board that knows the CRA's holidays.
What we hold to
- Your data is yours. You can export everything at any time, and delete it yourself.
- Hosted in Canada. The app, its database and your documents are on servers in Québec. Encrypted backups are kept with Cloudflare, which may store them outside Canada, and emails go through Resend, in the United States: where your data is.
- One price for the firm. Unlimited clients and portal users on every plan, in Canadian dollars.
- Plain words. The app says what it does, the help centre says how, and our policies say what we do with your data.
- No pretending. What Firmdesk doesn't do yet is listed on the pricing and security pages.
- Made-up data in public. Every screenshot and demo uses a fictional firm, never a real client.
